HIGH School Musical 3 stars have slighted many local diehard fans by dumping the gifts they were given at their Melbourne premiere.

Adoring teens – some who had waited 12 hours just to catch a glimpse of their screen idols Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale – showered the stars with toy kangaroos, koalas, and bunches of flowers as they strolled the red carpet at the Jam Factory on Wednesday night.

The gifts were accompanied by cards with heartfelt messages reading “I love you Zac!” and “Thanks for coming to Melbourne!”

But the presents quickly fell by the wayside, palmed off to nearby minders almost as soon as they were accepted by the stars.
