West student competes for role in ‘High School Musical’ July 23, 2008

How is Madison West student Tierney Chamberlain spending her summer vacation?

On television.

Chamberlain is one of 12 finalists for ABC’s reality series “High School Musical: Get in the Picture,” which airs Sunday and Monday nights on WKOW Channel 27.

In tonight’s pre-taped episode, Chamberlain was selected from among thousands of contestants to be one of the finalists, who are followed over the course of the season as they attend a summer music program together and hone their performing skills.

The ultimate winner will get to star in a music video that will air during the closing credits of the “High School Musical 3″ movie, as well as a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records.

“I mean, it hasn’t really even hit me yet that I’m here at all,” Chamberlain said in a telephone interview Monday from Los Angeles. “It’s all like a dream. It’s all happened so fast that I haven’t been able to take all of it in. I feel really, really grateful. It’s just a launching pad for all of us and it’s unbelievable.”

Tisdale’s Tears over High School Musical July 23, 2008

Ashley Tisdale burst into tears while filming her final scenes for High School Musical 3: Senior Year - because she is devastated her part in the franchise is over.

The actress has been involved in all three of the hit teen movies so far, but won’t be playing Sharpay Evans for a fourth time.

And she insists she wasn’t the only one to shed a tear on the last day - her castmates Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Blue all got emotional too.

She says, “We went into the last day thinking, ‘It’ll all be fine ’cause we’re all really good friends and we’re so close.”

“It wasn’t even the last scene - we couldn’t even get through it. We were crying and just so emotional over the whole thing.”

What happens when a rising British star gets the call to enter the halls of East High? A good old-fashioned freak-out.

“I ran around the house screaming,” Jemma McKenzie-Brown said, thinking back to the day she was asked to a final audition for “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” “My grandma was like, ‘What’s wrong?’ I was like, ‘Nothing, nothing. I’m really excited!’ “

Not exactly the reaction you might expect from an experienced star of British television and radio. But the call came near the end of months of auditions for “HSM3″ and eventually earned the 14-year-old a spot as the new kid at the “High School Musical” table. She plays Tiara Goal, a transfer student from England who becomes Sharpay’s personal assistant/ “mini-me” in the upcoming flick.

High School Musical stud Zac Efron shared his kissing techniques with J14 Magazine.

Zac starts his advice with, “Be respectful of the other person and don’t just get on in there and grope all over the place. My favorite kisses happen when I’ve taken it nice and slow.”

What makes his stomach turn, “When girls rotate their tongues around your mouth like a washing machine, that’s not a good idea. I’ve never experienced a washing-machine kiss, but I’ve heard about them.”

Zac saves his best tip for last: “Go easy and take your time. Don’t try to swallow the person you’re kissing by opening your mouth so wide!”

Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister Ali is to follow her famous sibling into the world of showbiz - after auditioning for a part in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Vanessa Hudgens reportedly ‘flipped out’ when she learned that Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister had auditioned for a part in the third and final installment of ‘High School Musical.’

Sources say Hudgens, who is dating her co-star Zac Efron, doesn’t want 14-year-old Ali Lohan to get a part in the movie because she feels that a Lohan will bring drama.

“When Vanessa heard that Ali was vying for a part in High School Musical 3, she flipped. She knows Ali isn’t Lindsay, but she’s still weary of the drama the Lohan clan brings,” says an insider.

Ali has previously admitted to her strong desire to be like her older sister, whose wild partying and drinking lead to a DUI arrest and a rehab stint. “I grew up watching Lindsay. It made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or on-stage, with everybody listening to you…it’s so cool when people look up to you,” she said.

Vanessa Hudgens tell People Magazine that she is very excited about High School Musical 3 and so is the rest of the cast:

The prospect of a High School Musical 3 appears to be getting closer and closer to reality.

“I am so very excited,” Vanessa Hudgens told PEOPLE backstage at Sunday’s American Music Awards in L.A., when asked about returning for the threequel. “To do a third one for the big screen, I can’t begin to think how much fun we’ll have.”

Hudgens, 18, said that although “only a few people have actually signed the contracts … We’re all definitely on board.”
